We completed our contract with the Corps of Engineer in
Georgetown, TX. We have a camp host
position lined up at Crawford State Park, Colorado starting mid May through
July 4
th. We did not want to
commit all summer to one location so when this short term position came up we
accepted. The elevation is in our target area of 6,600’. This time frame give us plenty of time to
meander around on the way to Crawford, CO.
First off we took the 5th wheel back to the
dealer to have a few minor things worked on.
They let us stay 3 days in their lot next to the workshop with full
hookups. We left the dealership and went
a short way to Brazos Bend State Park.
What a nice park. It’s huge with
a lot of hiking trails. They have a large swamp area where alligators are
allowed to roam free. We definitely want
to return to do more exploring here. It
would be a nice place to camp host in winter.
We were able to go to Belton and see our granddaughter play
in her first softball game. We enjoyed
it so much. It really made me realize
how much we are missing while we are gone.
Wish we could have seen our grandson play in one of his baseball
games. They are the cutest!
