Last night was a potluck dinner which we enjoyed very much. So nice to meet other RV folks. Linda & Howard are great hosts, they put on a good rally and bring everyone together. Linda came up with a fun game modeled after"The Newlywed Game". It was great fun.
Today we had more seminars, one about Alaska which we found interesting since we are planning to go there in just a few short weeks. Being newbies I know it will be a challenge. I am both excited and scared to go such a long way without more experience in maneuvering our rv. I've taken on the attitude to push myself to achieve my dreams. Otherwise I will talk myself out of most things I want to do. Why wait? Full steam ahead, may not get another chance.
Two days ago Norm developed a terrible toothache. He has been in a lot of pain. This afternoon was "free time" so we called around to area dentist to see if he could get in. Most are closed on Fridays, the others could not see him today. He was able to get his primary care physician in Georgetown to call in a prescription to the Kerrville walmart for an antibiotic. He obviously has an infection, the whole side of his face is swollen. He will see a dentist once we get back to Waco. :(

4/24/12 KERRVILLE RALLY
We managed to get in touch with a mobile RV repairman. He was able to fix the problem with our front jacks. Took several hours but we were on the road by 4:30 pm on our way to Kerrville. Arrived in Kerrville at Buckhorn Lake RV Resort. To my surprise we are parked right next to Linda & Howard Payne (the Angelina & Brad of the RV world, lol).
This morning (Wednesday) we attended the first series of seminars and enjoyed them a lot as well as meeting a few other attendees. There's a pizza & salad dinner tonight. I'm looking forward to meeting other RV'ers.

4/24/12 WITHOUT A HITCH?
We were
suppose to leave Georgetown yesterday to go to the RV Rally in Kerrville. We got things all buttoned up inside & outside
the RV but when we got ready to hitch up to the truck we realized the
front jacks did not work. After inspection we saw that the rod that
turns to lift the jacks was complete snapped in half. L Uh oh, looks like real trouble, and expensive
at that.
He is
working on it as we speak. Hopefully the
RV parts store has the correct jack in stock (they said they do, but we’ll see
when he goes to pick it up). Best case scenario: we will arrive at the rally late
tonight. Worse case: go later this week
or not at all. Hhmmmm….

4/13/12 LAST DAY OF WORK
Today was my last day at SU. I'm sure it will feel strange not getting up on Monday and going to work. Had a few friends/coworkers over to tour the RV Wednesday after work. There are some people I will truly miss.
We have an RV rally to go to the last week of this month. That gives us one week to button things up here in Georgetown and get the rv ready to move. We hope to spend time with the kids & gkids next week. The rally is about 5 days then we'll move up to our property in Waco to get things ready for our Alaska trip. We should leave around May 7th or so.
